Apogee cameras

Post by alintolea » Wed Dec 06, 2017 9:18 pm

Is there a way to integrate indi_apogee_ccd with INDI Server?

It seems to be missing from the device list, but the indi driver is available for linux.

Thanks!

Alin

Yes, it is not included, I'll check if it is possible to build libapogee on Mac. Peter

Peter built the driver and it's not in the indi server package 2.5.1

One caveat is that one needs to create
/usr/local/etc/Apogee/camera/

(sudo mkdir for /usr/local/etc/Apogee and /usr/local/etc/Apogee/camera )

and there place all the text files found here (also in a cab file in the apogee sdk):

https://github.com/indilib/indi/tree/ma ... pogee/conf

I've created an archive file with just the text files, please contact me if you need it.

FWIW I just participated in making some changes to the apogee drivers to under OSX. They should build now under OSX. I also submitted the changes to Andor (new Apogee owner) to see if they would take them but I don't think they are going to.

I made a lot of changes to Apogee SDK too to build it on Mac, but changes are not propagated to master INDI repository yet. You can see them here:

Bummer, looks like we duplicated each others effort at about the same time. I assume you would/will have created a pull request? I'm new to Indi but I assume you try to get your changes adopted by Indi?

I made also a lot of other changes related to CCD streaming to build it on Mac and Jasem refused pull request containing these commits: https://github.com/indilib/indi/pull/454

Maybe he's right, but I'm already tired and it makes much more sense for me to work on INDIGO instead this fight with windmills :(
