It would be possible to show in FitsPreview the gamma and gain data of the images?
Thanks in advance.

If it is present in header, you can find it, first button from the left in the toolbar. Peter

Hi, Peter.
I asked myself if you have any plan to combine your astro apps in a whole program (like SGP in windows)... It would be more "comfortable". Now we have to "jump" between them to check (guiding, imaging...) that all is ok. Workflow will be easier... Choose an objetive, slew, test telescope position, adjust it, take photo... all in automatic mode...
Just an idea...
Kindly regards from Spain.

Hi Carlos,

thank you for your idea, we considered it and at the very beginning (first PoC of jINDI project) we started with such kind of application, but we decided to change it finally. There are actually two related questions:

1. single window vs. multiple windows: apps like SGP looks good on a very large screen, but our apps are typically used on notebooks somewhere in the field. You have either simplify the operation too much or to use very small controls, what may be nice, but is actually very hard to use and error prone. You never need to see everything at once, you either adjusting the position or setting guiding or main imaging camera, but probably never at the same time.

2. single vs. multiple application: not everybody needs everything - we have users of just AstroDSLR or AstroImager (with mounts like AstroTrac or SkyTracker), we have users of just AstroTelescope (for visual observations) and users of just AstroGuider (probably using some other application for imaging). And also not everybody want to use everything - we have users combining our apps with CdC or PHD for various reasons. With our approach you have a choice and if you decide to use all of our apps, they talk to each other so you have the advantage of integrated system.

Nevertheless we have long term plan to make some kind of scripting superstructure for such workflow as you described. But we have to migrate everything to INDIGO first.

Regards, Peter

It's almost like you would need to work in some kind of planning software as a separate application, or as part of AstroTelescope, that allows you to pick targets for the night, create mosaics, park the scope, handle meridian flips, or shut it down if there are any issues with clouds showing up or guiding that gets out of control. But it would be nice to have a way to automate some processes.
