"Failed to connect" to Celestron CGX

Hi Peter, I am using version 4.0 (603) of AstroTelescope after a long hiatus. I love the new UI in version 4, but I'm afraid I cannot connect to my mount. I'm running a USB cable from the Mac to the Ultimate Power Box V2, which then has a USB cable to the mount (not the hand controller). In AT I sel...

Re: Procedure for Mount Alignment

Just to clarify... I understand that StarSense isn't necessary if I'm using AstroImager for plate-solving, it's just how I get an alignment accurate enough to then do an all-star polar alignment (especially when I can't see Polaris). I also don't want to remove it because there are nights when I do...

Re: "Mount doesn't respond to guiding pulses, is it really tracking?"

"ASI120MM-S Exposure failed" probably means USB bus congestion. Try to reduce USB bandwidth on one or both cameras (in embedded control panel). Once it happened, devices are in unpredictable state, it is better to reconnect them and also to restart the applications. Just a note for the community on...

Re: Celestron Focuser 94155-A

Hi, the right driver is the second one, USB_Focus V3 Focuser is a driver for this device: http://www.usb-foc.us/page/homepage I suppose the focuser can be calibrated with a handcontroller and will remain calibrated, but to be honest I'm not sure. Peter P. S. Pls. can you send me the crash log? Yep,...

Re: Procedure for Mount Alignment

[/quote] just an fyi on aspa. they consider within 10 minutes of the pole, "good enough", at best you can expect to be within 5 minutes, and this is usually only if you take extra alignment positions for the alignment model. so it is much better to just remove the building or tree blocking Polaris. ...

AstroImager & Pegasus Astro Ultimate PowerBox

I've been thinking about a new power management solution for my ever-growing mix of devices. I was thinking about the Pegasus Astro Ultimate PowerBox v2 (the one with a USB3.1 hub), but was disappointed in the Windows-only software. But then I noticed that AstroImager has an Indigo driver for it. Is...

Celestron Focuser 94155-A

Hello, I'm looking for guidance how to use my Celestron Focuser with AstroImager. AstroImager is connected to the hand controller via USB, and the focuser connects to the mount (CGX) via the RJ-11 cable. It didn't really surprise me that AstroImager didn't seem to be able to connect to the focuser v...

Re: "Mount doesn't respond to guiding pulses, is it really tracking?"

Hi, pls. try Terminal command defaults write eu.cloudmakers.AstroGuider checkSouthDiff 0 too. It seems that I have to make this in AG 4.0 differently, the huge backlash in DEC is a reality :( You may also try to e.g. double "Min. move during calibration" and "Max. calibration steps" in Preferences ...

Re: Procedure for Mount Alignment

Hm, I read the manual and it seems, you can't really fool StarSense, you can use it only under real sky :( It is probably a good think if you use just hand controller, but if you have a computer and some camera on the scope, it is superfluous and you can use alignment with astrometry instead. Peter...
