Re: IndigoSky and SW-SynScan alignment offset

Hi Nick,

Fellow user here; did you sync the system clock of the RPi to that of the other devices? Or all to an NTP server? I've experienced position offset issues in the past, that in the end always came down to the RPi system clock being slightly off :-)

Re: Meridian flip script operational

BTW Aaron, did you ever think of a vertical pier to just avoid the risk of mount collision, like this one; https://www.robtics.nl/nl/zuilen/1844-s ... ingen.html

Re: Meridian flip script operational

Hi Aaron, Not sure how to flip when the mount is still before the meridian. But we could automate your procedure. Store the target position, stop tracking, guiding and imaging when 20 min before the meridian, fire off a timer to wait for 20min and do the goto when the timer wakes. That shouldn't be t...

Re: Meridian flip script operational

Hi Aaron, I initiate the flip by doing a goto to the current object. If my AZ-EQ6 is over the meridian it will flip on the goto. I found however that when i plate solve and sync AT, AT has different coordinates than the mount. In my case (because of the sloppy way i set up my mount), after the first...

Meridian flip script operational

Hi all, Attached you'll find a script for executing a Meridian flip that has been tested under the sky on a number of occasions and can be tested yourself with the simulators first, before you run it on the real mount. Prerequisites for running the script are that you run AT, AI and AG V4.0_580 or h...

Re: SkyWatcher Mounts, PEC and AT/AG

Hi, If the Synscan driver is sooo bad. Synscan driver is pretty good actually :-) What Peter said is that when PPEC is supported by the mount (i.e. the part of persistently storing the guide corrections in the mount), synscan driver can use PPEC. And it does; it has properties for both training PPEC...

Property inspector

Hi, Been building a server based Meridian flip script (will publish here soon), that was rather complex to figure out and build. So i built small and very simple script that will log all the updated properties and their states from the Mount-, Imager-, Guider- and Astrometry Agent. This allowed me t...

Re: SkyWatcher Mounts, PEC and AT/AG

Hi, Been experimenting with PPEC on the AZ-EQ6 for a while. Provided you can train the PPEC function well, it does offer some advantage, as in guiding being more stable, because of the lack of periodic error. However, training the PPEC requires a very favourable set of conditions; good seeing, no wi...

Script to store measured SQM values in the FITS headers

Hi all,

Made a small, yet useful script that takes SQM values from the Unihedron SQM and stores the value every 10s in the FITS Custom headers, so the images get the proper SQM value.
