Hello Peter,

I have managed to register my version, thanks for that. Just toying around since preparing for the forecasted clear skies today (fingers crossed). An I cannot find a way to dither without guiding in version 4.x. I have no need for guiding as my system is fast enough that I can be sky fog limited within the my mount tolerance. Setting up guiding just to dither seems pointless when no single exposure ends up being long enough for any perceivable drift. 3-4min exposures.

Am I missing something, there used to be a setting In AI to dither and a pulse setting in AG to control the average dither pulse. This worked perfectly in 3.x and can see no such settings. With these new CMOS cameras and faster imaging with RASA like systems, surely more and more people will have a need for dithering without having to guide.

Thanks,

Eric

Hm, well, dithering with version 4 means, that imaging client like AI or AD sets offset to the reference frame and AG tries to correct to that new reference. It confirm that dithering is finished, when RMSE of the guiding is approximately on the same level as before dithering. So this kind of dithering can't work without guiding.

But I can imagine to add another kind of dithering, something like - if you enter non-zero aggressivity expressed in pixels, it will use v4 approach, but if you enter non-zero aggressivity and settling down period expressed in seconds, it will dither use v3 approach. Maybe in later case with AT instead of AG.

Better now with more separation between buttons. Thank you, Peter
