INDIGO 2.0 for Linux

Peter, I just picked up an RPi 4. I've installed synaptic package manager and installed indigo and the control panel. I've launched it, but see no options. I'm used to the Mac version. Do I just need to plug in my equipment to the RPi for it to show up in the control panel, or do I need to do something else?

Also, is it easier to just install INDIGO-Sky? If this image will set me up with an Indi server, this seems like a better option for me. Will it run on the RPi 4 before I attempt an install?

Hi, if you just installed packages on non-INDIGO Sky image, server is not started and/or configured as a service as a service. Did you started it?

It is definitely better to use INDIGO Sky image, the most recent version (from here: http://indigo-astronomy.org/indigo-sky.html) will run on RPi4, the only known issue are 12 bit modes with Altair/Touptek cameras and we're not quite sure, if it is SDK or hardware related problem.

But it doesn't contain INDI driver, just INDIGO driver Also there is no control panel or X11 at all, just ssh. It is intended to be used as headless system. But you can use server managere, control panel and all other apps in webGUI at (http://indigosky.local:7624).

Thanks for the information. Shortly after posting this, I saw INDIGO Sky was supported on RPi4. So I abandoned the control panel etc, and went with INDIGO Sky. So far so good. Camera works. I have not tried with any other hardware, but it looks like all my hardware is supported. I did not see SSAG driver, but I can use a different camera.

I was able to see the images in the web manager, and I was also able to use AstroImager on the Mac to connect and control and see images.

We noticed, that automatic install failed on some systems and this seems to fix the situation:

Connect with login and password indigo to indigosky.local with ssh and execute the following commands:

sudo find /var/lib/apt/lists -type f -exec rm -v {} \;
sudo apt update
sudo apt install indigo

We switched INDIGO PPA repository from commercial hosting to github. You can find it here:

To setup automatic installation and subsequent updates, you need to add our repository URL to APT sources list. To do it from command line, create the file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/indigo.list as root with you favourite editor, e.g. like this

$ sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list.d/indigo.list

add the following line

deb [trusted=yes] https://indigo-astronomy.github.io/indigo_ppa/ppa indigo main

and execute the following commands

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install indigo
$ sudo apt-get install indigo-control-panel

To do it from e.g. Synaptic package manager, execute it, go to Settings > Repositories, click new and fill URI, distribution and sections with the following text:



Once done, click Reload and search for indigo packages.
